Background
I began my journey into photography in late 1979. I've been furtunate enough to have had over 500 images published since then. After several years of art-show competitions, I now have photos in several corporate and private collections, including US Bank, First Community Bank, Pace University, and Wellmont Health System. Some corporate clients include The University of Tennessee, Carson-Newman College, Rockwell, TRW, East Tennessee State University, the Museum of Appalachia, and Ratliff Mandolin Company.
Education and certifications
I have taught photography through the "Artists in the Schools Program" in Hawkins County Tennessee. In 2005 I taught a class on digital photography to teachers in the Hawkins County, Tennessee School system. I studied with Kenneth Murray in the mid 1980s. I completed a course through the New York Institute of Photography in 1981. I have a BS degree from Tusculum College in Greenevile, Tennessee. Through the International Freelance Photographer's Association (IFPO), I have received the following certifications: Certified Professional Craftsman Photographer (1997) ,Certified Master Photographer (2000), Lifetime Achievement Diploma (2003), Master Photographer Regnant (2004), Hall of Fame (2008).
