May & June 2010 has been a great time! I've had several shots published in the Rogersville Review, had a Tennessee Banker cover,and had some photos in some articles and brochures.

My new book, Appalchian Photographs, is now available at www.blurb.com. 

The class is finished up now. I hope the students were as inspired from the classes as I am from teaching them. They were a wonderful group.

One of my photos was on the cover of the April 2010 issue of The Tennessee Banker.

So far I've had three front-page photos with my new Rogersville Review column.

The class on Tuesday night has been going great. All the student's work has been very impressive and they have shown a lot of interest in learning more about photography.

My new Rogersville Review column was featured on the front page of the April 14 edition.

The photography class is a going to be every Tuesday night in April at The Local Artists Gallery at 6:30pm. Its part of a series called "Launch Your Creative Spirit." It is presented by the Tennessee Arts Commission.

I'm now a regular contributor to the Rogersville Review. I'll have a "stand alone" photo in the midweek edition starting March 17.

I learned that one of my photos will be on the March, 2010  issue of  The Tennessee Banker magazine.

I had several photos of The East Tennessee young Musicians Bluegrass Contest in the March 3 Rogersville Review.

I'll be teaching a photography class in Rogersville during the month of April, 2010. Call or email me if you're interested.

Please come and join me at a special program, Appalachia, at Walters State Community College on Friday February 5, 2010. I'll be in the Humanities Building.

I'm now a member of "The Local Artists Gallery" in Rogersville. I'll have prints, books and postcards available there.

I had a photo on the front page of the Jan 13, 2010 Rogersville Review.

I will have a book signing with Rodney Ferrell for the Christmas season  at the Local Artist Gallery on December 11 from 5:30- 8:00pm.

I have the cover photo on the November issue of Tennessee Banker Magazine.

One of my images was used in Rodney Ferrell's article in the Rogersville Review on October 2.

One of my photos is on the cover of the September issue of The Tennessee Banker.

I just got a copy of Rodney Ferrell's new book, Hawkins County. It is a part of Arcadia's "Images of America" series. I'm proud to have over 20 images included in this book, and I appreciate Rodney's continued use of my photos in his Rogersville Review column.

Rogersville, my book with Rodney Ferrell, is doing really well. It came out in June and we've had two successful book signings. The Rogersville Review and Hawkins Today both ran articles about the book.

The Johnson City Press published a feature article about the release of Rogersville on Monday, June 15.

Rodney Ferrell and I have two booksignings planned for the release of Rogersville: June 29, Price Public School from 2-4 pm & July 3 at the Local Artists Gallery from 6-8pm.

Number 101 came quickly! I also had the May cover of The Tennessee Banker magazine.

I had an article about local mandolin builder Duel Hilton on the front page of the April 10/11 edition of the Rogersville Review. (April 09)

I learned that I'll have two photos in the new book,The Barns of Tennessee, which will be published by Donner Press this fall. (July 2008)

I have a photo on page 85 of the August issue of Blue Ridge Country.This is its 20th anniversary issue, so I was happy to be included in this landmark issue. (July 2008)

There are two of my photos (though uncredited) in the new book, Grass Roots, A Musical Heritage of East Tennessee by Jim Beller and Hale Vance on pages 112 and 133.(May 2008)

The weekend at Berea was great! The issue of Appalachian Heritage was very well done. The reception was very nice, and we spent a lot of time with author Sharyn McCrumb. (April 08)

My photographs will illustrate the next issue of Appalachian Heritage magazine. The feature writer will be the late Mildred Haun. A reception will be held at Berea College (Kentucky) on April 25. (March 08)

One of my photos was on the cover of the Johnson City Press newspaper on March 24, along with 3 more photos on page 11A, in a story about the ETSU Bluegrass Program. (March 08)

I was named to the International Freelance Photographers Association's Hall of Fame on January 18, 2008. I received an "Honorary Degree of Distinction in the Photographic Arts and Sciences." (Jan 08)

I had a black & white photo on the inside back cover of the Jan 2008 Issue (Volume 23, number 2) of "Now & Then", ETSU's Appalachian Magazine.  (Jan 08)

My photo of the Hale Springs Inn won 1st Honorable mention, Professional Division, in the Scenic Tennessee Photo Contest. The winning photos will be exhibited at three locations across the state. (Dec 2007)

I worked with a local historical group to help them publish a postcard of the Price Public School/Swift Museum in Rogersville. (Nov 08)
